Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day from the Huszar family. We made a heart shaped cookie and then decided to make smaller hearts after. Emery ate ALL of these below....he's our sweet tooth kid for sure!

We went to the zoo the other day...the boys loved it and some of their best friends came along too!!

Jake you are SO loved by your family. You are crawling all over the place (which is still so strange for your mommy since your brothers didn't crawl at this age). You cut 4 top teeth this week (holy cow, feel so bad for you, but at least I know now why you are up in the middle of the night :-)

New teeth, first illness & lots of curls!!

Jake popped his 3rd tooth on 1/31/12 (it's on the top, but not the

middle one :-), he will have fangs soon!! That same day, the poor baby got his first ear infection. It was a miserable night for him but he got some medicine and is doing much better. I knew something was very wrong since he was up crying uncontrollably for several hours & this baby never cries. I had no idea what to expect since Emery & Owen have never had an ear infection, but Jake seems to be doing a lot better, yay!

Even with the sickness & new teeth, he looks like this :-)

I am SO in love with these adorable curls he has going on, especially when his hair is wet, it's SO cute!

A date to church

Emery and I had a date to church together yesterday. Jason stayed home with Owen & Jake who are sick and Emery and I decided to go together. What an awesome experience it was to sit with my little guy, just the 2 of us (it was a first and most likely the last), but I cherished the sweet moments we had together. He was so well behaved :-)

Thanks Emery for a wonderful Sunday experience at church. I got to attend my other meetings/Sunday school without any interruption.....it was so strange, I kept waiting for Jake to cry, etc, but he wasn't there. I love you Emery Quinn!

The boys had more fun in the snow yesterday. We got dumped on again! I love that we live in a place that snows so the boys can experience all 4 seasons.....Jason and I didn't have that growing up, it's great for them!

Jake is crawling......yep I am going to make it official.....he gets up on his hands and knees ans does a few moves forward and then army crawls :-) but he is WAY ahead of his older brothers.....Emery & Owen didn't crawl until they were a year old!! Who knows, maybe Jake will decide to walk earlier too!

Jesus wants Emery for a sunbeam

Emery is a sunbeam in the primary at church. When kids turn 3, they go into the primary classes (like Sunday school). It's kind of a big deal since they have been in the nursery since they were 18 months old. He had a hard time at first with the idea of being separated from Owen but he has adjusted very well. He has 3 little girls in his class :-) We are so proud of him, his teacher says he is doing great and loves to participate.

There is a song called "Jesus wants me for a sunbeam" and Emery loves to sing it, it's pretty darn cute! He is getting so grown up, it's hard to believe he will be 4 years old in May........where's that pause button???

Sometimes I get caught up in the routine of the day and all the chores and responsibilites of being a mom to 3 little boys that I forget to take a step back and cherish the small wonderful moments we have together. It's not an easy job, it's the hardest one I've ever had.....but I love being their mom and I feel truly blessed. I love these boys with ALL of my heart and hope that I can continue to get better at this "mommy" job everyday.

Winter has finally arrived.....we are getting hammered with lots of snow today......it's 11:30 and we have over 7 inches already and it's not supposed to stop for a couple days. The boys just loved being out in it.

Emery kept sticking out his tongue to catch the snow :-)

Owen's gloves came off and at first he didn't seem to care....

But then he realized it wasn't too much fun to be cold :-(

Jake is 9 months old today! I know everyone tells you how quick the time goes by but man, I wish it would slow down a little.

It doesn't feel like it has been 9 months....I have said it before, but I wish I had a pause button.

Here are your stats at 9 months:

Weight : 20 pounds, 10 ounces (52%)

Height: 28 inches (41%)

Head Circumference: 91% (hehe)

Jake loves to say "nananananananana" and dadadadadadada". He giggles for no reason sometimes :-) You just have to look at him and he lights up and smiles. He isn't crawling yet....but is thinking about it. It will be interesting to see if Jake follows in his big brother's footsteps and walks at 15 months. We are SO in love with this baby boy.

I wanted to write some things down before I forget....the boys are changing so much everyday!

Owen's latest:

He says "what doing?" A LOT :-) He must ask me 50 times a day what I am doing. He also says "where going?", it's pretty cute, I will respond and he always says "oh". Overall, he is speaking so much better and repeating everything we say which is so awesome! He has quite the attachment to his blankie and always needs something to drink. I guess it's a comfort thing :-)

Emery's latest:

He is pretty fixated on when his birthday is....he says things like "how many minutes till my birthday mommy?" and "is it my birthday yet?". It's going to be a long 4 months :-)
He loves to make Jake laugh and is pretty darn good at it......which is great for car rides since they sit next to each other.

I am going to save Jake's latest until tomorrow, he will be 9 months old, how did that happen?

Quality time with Grandma Kim

Kim spent a week with us for Christmas. It was SO nice having her here, the boys were in heaven! We went to the Botanical Gardens and checked out the beautiful Christmas lights...it was cold, especially for Kim who is used to South Florida, but it was great.

I am one lucky girl.....I have the BEST mother-in-law in the world!

Watching the trains go by with Emery & Owen :-)

Before she left, we drove up about 40 miles past our house to find some snow since we didn't have a white Christmas (of course the year Kim comes, we had NO snow). It has snowed every year on Christmas Eve since 2006 when we moved to Idaho, but I guess it wasn't supposed to this year :-(

Monkey Business

We went with our friends, Shaanti & Adam and their 3 boys :-) to a place called Monkey Business on Friday night....what an awesome place. It's an indoor play place for kiddos.....our boys LOVED it!

What a fun fun night....thanks Buchers! We enjoyed our crazy dinner at the Chicago Connection with 6 BOYS :-), playing & ice cream after...we jammed a lot into 1 night but it was so worth it!

More Christmas Eve

Some more pics from Christmas Eve. It was so nice to have everyone together. The whole gang spent the night at our house so that we could all experience Christmas morning with the boys opening gifts. It was so magical and exciting to watch Emery & Owen experience this special holiday. Jake loved it too and it was awesome that Kim could be here for his very 1st Christmas.

We had such an awesome dinner.....homemade chicken parmesan with baked ziti and homemade caesar salad and garlic bread of course :-) My mom and Steve made the entire meal, it was SO good!

Getting the Christmas Tree

We got our Christmas tree late this year....this past Friday night....we decided to get one at Costco.....beautiful Noble Fur trees.....we got about an 8 footer, it's so beautiful. It was a strange experience though, they don't open the trees so you can look at them....you just cross your fingers that the one you pick is nice :-) All the trees are grown at a Christmas Tree Farm in Oregon so they were made to be Christmas trees :-)

They had 1 tree on display and the boys still thought it was fun!

The other down side is they don't help you put it on your car, so Jason got to do it solo in the cold,

Happy 8 months Jake

Jake was 8 months old yesterday December 11. Everyone always talks about how fast the baby stage flies by, but it's amazing how true it is. I get sad that he is getting older....I am not sure why that is, but you realize you don't get these sweet moments back.

Update on Owen's latest

I have to post this before I forget the things Owen has been saying and doing in the past week:

He says I love you, but most of the time it sounds like "I you", but it is the sweetest thing ever, it melts my heart every time
He has a new attachment to blankies, there is not a specific one really, just asks for his blankie and is happy with whichever one I give him.....he carries it around everywhere
He says his name when we ask "what's your name?", for the longest time, he would only say all of our names, although Emery is known as "brother"
He recognizes emotions and will say things like "Jake sad", it's really cute!
He is obsessed with "JUICE".....we really thought he might be diabetic :-), it's kind of crazy how much he drinks!
He HATES his diaper changed.....he cries every time and it always seems to be SO dramatic :-)

We love you SO much Owen.....you are getting SO big.....we are proud of you!

In October, we decided to get some professional fall pictures. Jason and I can look back now at the experience and laugh but at the time we were all miserable. The boys all had runny noses, it was cold and at 4:00 on a weeknight, which meant Jason had to leave work early, our planning wasn't the best, and the boys just were not into it :-)

This is our family pic below....the only 1 where someone is not crying, so I'll take it :-)

I am grateful we got a couple cute ones of the boys......you take what you can get with 3 little boys! We joked with the photographer and told her we would try again in 5 years!

Winter Garden A Glow

We went to the Winter Garden A Glow last night with our friends Amy & Shane and their boys. It was freezing, the temp was about 37 but the winds were blowing 10-20mph, but all the boys did awesome and never complained once of being cold!!

They had an amazing train display with all different types of trains...the boys LOVED it and stood there forever!!!

Watching trains and drinking lots of hot chocolate!

Baby Jake was cracking up in his car seat....he had the best seat in the house....nice and warm and cozy in his stroller....see the train behind him :-)

Thanks Amy and Shane for some fun memories.....happy we braved the elements.....our boys sure love hanging out and we love you guys!

It's cold outside!

We all went for a nice walk this morning down the trail below our house...it was cold but the sun was shining bright which helped a lot! The boys just love it out there, it was a little tricky with Jake but we made it work. Emery still had his pj pants on but he didn't seem to mind....it's tough getting everyone ready and out the door :-)

I love that we live in a place where our boys can really experience the outdoors and nature. It's so fun to see them explore their surroundings.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at our house. We have so much to be grateful for! We decided to boycott turkey this year :-) I think we may have started a new tradition.....ham and trip tip, yum!!!

My cousin Taylor came from California, it was so nice to see her

I think my cousin and I look a lot alike....she has been a blonde her whole life but decided to go dark, we would really look alike if we had the same hair color :-)

What Emery is up to at 3 1/2

I thought I would share some fun things that Emery has been saying and doing at his 3 1/2 milestone......here is Emery the other day after preschool.....they made these hats and told the teacher what they were grateful for and she wrote them on each feather.

Here's the list:

Toys, Papas (Papa Tony and Grandpa Erv), feathers :-), mommy, daddy, Jake & Owen, movies & my animals. They also made a teepee (no idea how to spell that?), anyway, Emery LOVES going to preschool....he loves his teacher and his friends there. He told his teacher one day " I just love you Miss Patricia", yep that melted her heart :-)

Here are some of his favorite sayings:

I made the mistake of saying to Emery one time, "ok, Emery here's the deal, you have 2 choices, and gave him his 2 choices, so now he will tell me all the time, "Mommy, you want to hear my deal?" and then proposes something......it's too funny!
One day, Emery and Owen were fighting (this happens all day long) but this day I said "Emery, please stop fighting with your brother, and he says "but animals fight mommy", and I say "but Emery you are not an animal" and he replies "but I can pretend to be one".
When he is using the bathroom, he says to me "Go into the living room mommy so I can take my privacy"
He has a saying where he says "kids_________", example was the other day Emery got some urine on his undies, and he says to me "mommy, sometimes kids have accidents, it's ok". I will ask him to do do something like pick up his toys and he will respond "kids don't like to pick up toys". Or if I ask him to brush his teeth, "kids don't like to brush their teeth".
Every time I drop Emery off at preschool, he says "I love you mommy, let me give you a hug and kiss, have a good trip".
Lately, every night at dinner, Emery says "thank you mommy for making this _____", it's so sweet!
Almost every night, Emery says a prayer before bed with all of us, we don't prompt him or tell him what to say, he gives such meaningful heartfelt prayers and always thanks his heavenly father for his friends and family...it really is the sweetest thing ever!

Emery is a very sweet kid.....he is so loving and really enjoys being with his friends and family. He is SO stubborn (I wonder where he gets that from :-) and can be very defiant at times. He is funny too and has such a great sense of humor! I can't believe he is 3 1/2 already.....the time is going too fast, wish I could hit the pause button.....it's so fun watching him learn new things everyday and trying to figure out the world. He is an awesome big brother and adores Owen & Jake.

Took these of the boys last night in the bathtub....I was holding Jake with one arm and taking a picture with the other.....yep, you get pretty good at this multitasking stuff when you have 3 :-)

It's been really hard lately managing all their different needs and dealing with Owen and Emery fighting constantly, but I have to remember to soak in these moments when they are happy and love being with each other. These moments make it all worth it!

Jake's 7 month post (a little late)

Jake was 7 months old on November 11.....7 months, really....how did that happen? It seems like the days and the months fly by around here.

He is getting up on all 4's :-) and rocking back and forth

It's pretty cute!

He is saying his own language....we hear "Ah da da da da da" a lot....why is it that babies seem to prefer to say dada before mama? He is still taking 2 good naps during the day and sleeps through the night mostly, except when he is teething. He loves to eat baby food, anything really, he's not picky yet :-)

Thank you Jake for being such a sweetheart and going with the flow.....your BIG brothers are sure loud and you just take it all in with a smile.

We're back!

We are back after over a week without a camera.....our other one broke and we tried to take it back to Costco but we were 5 days past the 1 year warranty...what a bummer!

Here's Jake during dinner last night....notice all the drool on his onesie and his 2 bottom teeth coming in :-) He's been a bit miserable, waking up lots at night but they are so cute....what is it about baby teeth that are so cute? I am just glad babies don't remember the pain!

I am feeling grateful for Jason and my boys. Jason is such a great father to our boys, they are truly blessed to have him. I have been in such a funk lately....having a 3 1/2 year old, a 2 year old and a baby is quite challenging to say the least.....and I find myself feeling frustrated, mostly because Owen and Emery fight a lot which is draining and it wears me down at times......but then we have our sweet moments when Emery tells me that he loves me and gives me a hug and kiss for no reason and when Owen says "luv you" and plants a big kiss on my cheek right before bed and Jake cuddles up with me and his smile melts my heart..... these are the moments that I realize it is all worth it!! Being a mother of 3 little ones is no joke.....I really am outnumbered, but I wouldn't change it for anything. God has blessed us with these 3 precious souls to take care of and I am very grateful for that. Ok, I'll stop now :-) because I could go on forever.

Trick or Treating

We took the boys trick or treating for the very first time....they LOVED it! It was so fun to watch their excitement as they went to each house to get candy.

Just have to document some things I want to remember about Owen this week:

He says "watch", or should I say yells watch so we will look at him doing something
He has a TON of new words, don't think I can remember them all.....again, up (finally :-), Jake (it's so clear and adorable when he says his baby brother's name), blankie, shirt, and some phrases......"I don't know", I want more cheese, "there he is", "here it is", "all done", "ouch that hurt"and he his favorite word is still NO :-)

He is making SO much progress with his speech/vocabulary.....he is now repeating most words, yay!!!!

They had a cool jumping area....Owen didn't think it was too much fun, but Emery sure did!

We went to the Farmstead Pumpkin Patch....Jason flew home yesterday from Florida after a week long business trip...we sure missed him! It was nice to have some quality time together.

We got some really cool pumpkins this year....all different kinds and colors

They had a really fun corn maze that the boys enjoyed running through

Emery and Owen got to sit on the Big Red Tractor....the nice man that did the hay rides

let them both take a turn, so nice!

Jake enjoyed the maze too....it's hard to believe that this time next year and he will be running it too!

These pics are way out of order (sorry), but these were taken the first day we got there....it was the only day that it rained, we got really lucky :-) but it was still so beautiful!

So on the way there, we got a flat tire in the middle of NOWHERE, really, nowhere.....on highway 95, which is a 2 lane highway with no place to pull off....Jason was attempting to get the spare on when a nice man pulled up from AAA, what are the chances of that happening?

We took a vacation to Monterey California for a week......we drove almost 1700 miles round trip....it was quite the haul but so worth it. We enjoyed spending time at the beach

On his 2nd birthday, 9/23 he said cookie for the first time :-) so fun to remember!
Since his birthday he has said : out, eat, look, doggie, boat, trees, "all done", "chee" for cheese, "ug" for hug and a phrase "I don't know why"!!!!

We are so proud of his progress......he is making so many new sounds and really trying to get out the words.....keep it up Owen Anthony!!! Way to GO!!!

We celebrated Owen's 2nd birthday on his actual birthday Friday night the 23rd at my mom and Steve's house. It was a fun night......Owen was in such a good mood, I think he knew it was his special day!!!!

Here's my attempt to make him a 2 race car cake, it didn't look the greatest but it was delicious!!!

Owen is 2 today.......can't believe how fast time goes, it seems like yesterday and he was just a newborn!

I fell in love the moment I saw you

And we were celebrating your 1st birthday!

And look at you now.....more active than ever!

Owen, you are SO loved by your family. Here are a few things that I want to remember about you buddy:

I love how you start dancing EVERY time you hear any kind of music
You have started grabbing our hands and pulling us and saying "go" so that we will come with you
You have an amazing sense of humor, you love to joke around
I love that you pucker up your lips to give kisses :-) in such a dramatic way
I love how you say "go go" every time you see a car or truck, it's the cutest thing ever!
You are so friendly and are always saying and waving goodbye to everyone, complete strangers in the grocery store especially

I am loving some of the things that come out of Emery's mouth lately. He is really into asking WHY and what does _____ mean? He is so curious and wants to figure everything out :-) We have LONG car rides of "why" this and that, but it's entertaining!

He is a funny kid!

I have to document some things Emery has been saying lately:

So we are driving home the other night and sees a full moon and says "Mommy, I wish I could go to the moon" and then says "I could go and sit on the moon and then take a balloon back down to your car mommy, how about that?"
We were driving to pre-school this morning and we passed our church and Emery says "mommy, how come there are no cars at church? and I said "well Emery it's Tuesday and everyone goes on Sunday" and he replies "Jesus is there mommy" and says "I wish Jesus had a car".
We are driving back from pre-school and he says "mommy, I am glad baby Jake is here"...."I'm glad that we got him at the hospital" and then he asks me "mommy, was it cozy in the hospital in your bed?"
Still driving (you know it takes us over a 1/2 hour to get home :-) he says "mommy, I wish Jesus could come to our house" and then says "he would give me a big hug mommy".

Jake will be 5 months old on Sunday September 11. He is such a happy baby, really, he is always smmiling and giggling and just loves people. He is ALWAYS on his belly......as soon as you put him down he rolls over. He is starting to kick his legs and trying to scoot around. He's still sleeping through the night :-) We haven't started "real" food yet.....thinking of trying some rice cereal soon.

Emery's BIG day!

Emery had a big day today....he started pre-school! He was a little overwhelmed this morning when saying goodbye to daddy but he got excited when it was time to get in the car and go. He said "mommy I am going to miss you". That totally melted my heart.

Boys Campout

On August 22, Jason took Emery camping with our friend Adam and his 2 little boys, Cole and Mason. It is a great park right across from where we dock the boat at Lucky Peak. Emery LOVED it....he talks about it all the time, he loves sleeping in a tent with his sleeping bag! The next day we all went boating, it was such a great time with great friends!

I took the boys to the zoo yesterday with my friend Amy and her 2 boys, Cade and Carson. It was such a beautiful day, in the low 80's and breezy.

Jake is 4 months old today! He is changing so much everyday. He has been rolling over for the past month and prefers to sleep on his tummy. He was sleeping through the night at 3 months until recently....he got a cold/cough from his older brothers so he has been up lots during the night. He is a great napper....he stays awake for about 2 hours after eating and then will nap for 1-2 hours. He really is a happy baby boy, loves anyone that will talk to him, smile, cuddle.....we are so incredibly blessed.

Jason has been in Florida for 4 days so we are trying to survive solo. I took the boys downtown to the Boise market to the fountains. Emery was really excited to go but then we got there and he didn't want to go in at all. Owen was not scared at all and had fun playing in the water.

Trip to Redfish Lake

We rented a cabin up at Redfish Lake with our friends, Adam & Shaanti and their 3 boys, so we had 6 little boys with the 4 adults staying in a 1 bedroom and a loft, lets just say it was loud :-) The first night was rough....each kid took their turn waking up which meant everyone woke up so nobody got much sleep. The second night was much better. Emery & Owen were a wreck a lot of the time, they both really need to nap and they didn't get to so they were not on their best behavior, but there were moments when they were happy, here are the highlights:

The boys loved exploring.....there were little squirrels/chipmunks that Emery referred to as "Chippey". He always wanted to go find "Chippey", he didn't realize there were hundreds of Chippeys :-)

We went boating last night with our good friends, Amy and Shane and their twin boys, Cade & Carson. It was a GREAT time.....I just love summers in Boise. It was 94 degrees when we got there so everyone was ready to get in the water, well kinda :-) it's still cold at first. The boys just love boating!

Mom's special day

My mom and Steve got married yesterday July 23!! It was a beautiful ceremony in their friend's backyard. cool house that was built in 1903. My mom looked gorgeous, we are SO happy for them.

This is the only pic I got of the 2 of us and my mom was looking at another camera :-( but she's still beautiful!

The boys were soaked in ice cold water.....they thought it was pretty fin to pick up water botttles and throw them back in and watch the water splash everyone :-)

Oh man.....Emery was in a mood by the end of the night and did NOT want to be in pictures!!!

And poor Jason had Emery and Owen during the whole ceremony and they didn't get to see much since they were inside having meltdowns :-(

Update on Owen's speech

So I have been taking Owen to speech therapy once a week for 1 hour for about 6 weeks now. He is saying more words these days....on a regular basis he says : shoes, juice, night night, mama, dada, car, truck, NO, choo-choo, bye bye, hi, go, toes, nose, tickle. He has mastered NO....I mean you can ask him anything and he says NO. It's pretty entertaining to listen to a conversation between Owen and Emery. Emery will be jabbering away and Owen just says no with a smile. I know there is so much more in there that wants to come out but he hasn't quite figured out how to express it. I know a day will come when he won't stop talking :-) if he is anything like his older brother, but we are proud of the progress he is making. He's a doll and we just love him to pieces.

Emery is doing AWESOME potty training. It has been 1 week without 1 accident!! He is going on his own without any prompts and tells me when he is done. His new thing is peeing outside :-).......this is too funny, he wants to pee in our driveway every chance he gets and the best part is he wants me to see where he went every time. I guess it's better than on the carpet and he's a boy, so I say why not!

He is going on the big potty in public places now which is great, he went twice at church and at the grocery store....I think it has finally clicked, yay!!! I never thought I could be so proud when my son pooped in the potty but I feel so proud and happy for him. He is so proud of himself too, it's pretty cute.....this morning he says to me "mommy, I am going to go pee in the driveway" and I said ok, I'll come with you" and he says "No mommy, you stay here, I can do it by myself, I don't need you to come". Wow, we have come along way in the past week. He tells me all the time that he is a big boy now. He is even getting up in the middle of the night asking to go on the potty, I guess I will have to put one in his room???.....not sure what to do about that.

Way to go Emery.......we are SO proud of you!

Emery's 1st trip to the dentist!

Emery had his 1st trip to the dentist this morning. I had a teeth cleaning too. He wasn't quite sure about the whole thing. Before we left, he told me "I don't want to go to the dentist mommy, I want to stay home by myself", HA! We are a week into potty training so of course I was worried the whole way there since he was in undies. Lets just say he held it until we got there....notice the jeans shorts in the first picture and khaki shorts after that. Yep, he decided to pee all over their couch in the waiting area...luckily it was leather :-) He came around the corner and told me "mommy, I peed on the couch out there"....awesome!

Finally, he let the dentist look inside :-)

He didn't have any interest in sitting in the chair, he said "I'll sit in the big chair next time mommy, ok?". Well at least the dentist got to do his job even if Emery was standing next to him.

I am grateful to you Amy for watching Owen or I would have really been in trouble :-) At one point, Jake was fussy and I was holding him in between my legs while they were cleaning my teeth!

Wow, life has sure changed around here. Jason was off for a few days over the July 4th holiday weekend so we decided it was time to potty train Mr. Emery. He is doing pretty well overall.....but many accidents which I guess is part of the fun right? He will only go in "his potty" and is very afraid of the our toilets and public ones for sure....we have to tackle that problem next :-) I can only handle one thing at a time!

Don't mind his morning wacky hair :-) and yes the potty is in our living area...I can't be in the bathroom all day since I have to supervise the other 2 :-)

We went boating Tuesday night with my mom, Steve and nana AKA Grandma Oliver :-) and of course all the boys. We had a great time.
